At LifeJourney Church, we strive to be as concerned as Jesus was to minister to children. We want to be a parent’s trusted partner in their children’s spiritual growth. We want the time our children spend at church to be among the best moments of their week. Our mission is to welcome and equip our diverse families, and to help children become fully devoted followers of Christ. We offer the following programs for you and your children:

Here’s what you can expect every Sunday…

Nursery: newborn to two years

We offer care for infants and toddlers during both Sunday morning services. Each parent/guardian is provided a pager so we can contact you, and nursery staff is trained in child care for all ages. The nursery is located off the social hall inside the main entrance.

Main Street Station: 2 years to grade 5

Children from age 2 through grade 5 are welcomed into age specific Main Street storefronts where they play and learn together. Our trained and safe children’s workers use Sparkhouse video based curriculum to capture attention, teach important values, and make Sunday mornings a fun learning experience. Check-In for Main Street Station is located just inside the main entrance.

The Bridge: grades 6-8

That time between elementary school and high school can be a challenging one. You’re not quite a kid but you’re not quite a teen either; you’re bridging both. We’ve created a special place for those who are in that place of “in between”. The Bridge meets weekly during the 11:00 am service, and all tweens in 6th to 8th grades are welcome to participate. You can expect real, honest conversations about life, snacks, and games with others who are spanning the gap. The Bridge meets in Room 5 at the end of Main Street and dismisses into the Sanctuary for communion at the close of worship.

Teen Life

Students in the 9th-12th grade are invited to gather in The Loft for Teen Life during our weekly 11:00am service. In The Loft, teens explore the story of God and seek ways to find themselves in the story. Teen Life is a safe space for all who enter. Come see what relevant church is like. The Loft is located upstairs, in the west hallway and dismisses into the Sanctuary for communion at the close of worship.

Here’s what you can expect every Wednesday…

Wednesday Oasis & LJC Kids! Oasis

Oasis is a time out from the rest of a hectic, busy week. Our Wednesday Oasis is perfect for families because it coincides with our LJC Kids! Oasis at 6:30pm. Parents have a chance to gather and build positive connections with others while the kids ages 6 weeks to 11 years gather in age specific groups too. It’s a time of refreshment for the whole family. Parents gather in Room 6 and kids gather in the nursery or Main Street Station.

Here’s what you can expect for special events…

We offer frequent special events to supplement regular programming. Vacation Bible School and Waycross Summer Camp are offered each summer, the Easter Egg Hunt and Birthday Party for Jesus are major annual events for our younger children. The Bridge and Teen Life groups have quarterly programs like lock-ins, bonfires, scavenger hunts and more. There is always something to do to keep families and kids of all ages engaged and having fun!

Youth Sunday

We want the youth in our congregation to be active participants in Sunday worship alongside the adults of the church. That’s why we have Youth Sunday on the 5th Sunday of the month. Youth of all ages lead worship and participate in the life of the church on these special Sundays though Scripture reading, singing, dancing, preaching, and more. There is programming available for the 2-6 year olds during a portion of the service for those who choose that option.
