Course Description
Thriving in Christian Community: Discipleship 102 picks up where Following Jesus: Discipleship 101 leaves off. As followers of Jesus, we are called to live together in spiritual community. “Going it alone” is not an option. Jesus said, “For where two or three are gathered in my name, I am there among them” (Matthew 18:20). When we walk this journey together, pooling our spiritual power while sharing, loving, creating, challenging, pushing, tugging (and even sometimes arguing) then we have the best opportunity to grow our souls and to change the world.
Thriving in Christian Community: Discipleship 102 will give you the chance to think deeply about how spiritual community (i.e., church) is supposed to work and where your particular gifts and talents might best fit in the life of that community. We will explore vital topics like spiritual gifts, the purpose of worship, building friendship networks, the importance of small groups, giving and tithing, and Jesus’ model for conflict resolution.
Discover church the way it’s supposed to be.
